Shipping & Import Policy
Effective Date: May 7, 2025
This policy outlines the procedures, responsibilities, and expectations related to the international shipment of fresh fruits and vegetables to Barka, Oman by Shagiwal Trade L.L.C..
1. Import Sources
We import goods from a variety of trusted suppliers located in countries including but not limited to:
- Iran
- India
- Pakistan
- Afghanistan
- Turkey
- Uzbekistan
- China
- Uganda
- South Africa
- Australia
- New Zealand
- United State of America
- Yemen
- Egypt
- Dubai (UAE)
All suppliers are pre-vetted to meet quality and food safety standards relevant to the GCC region.
2. Port of Entry
Goods are shipped to Oman via designated seaports (such as Sohar Port or Port Sultan Qaboos), then transported to our receiving facility at Silal Market, Barka.
3. Shipping Timelines
- Transit times vary by origin country and port congestion.
- Average delivery time from origin to Barka is between 5 to 14 business days.
- Customers will be notified of estimated arrival dates and real-time updates where available.
4. Container Unloading & Customs
All shipments are subject to Omani customs inspection. Shagiwal Trade L.L.C. handles documentation, clearance, and container transport to Barka.
- Original Bill of Lading, Health Certificate, and Packing List are required for each shipment.
- Delays due to missing paperwork or customs inspections are beyond our control.
5. Product Handling & Cold Chain
- Perishable goods are shipped in refrigerated containers (reefers) where required.
- Upon arrival in Barka, goods are immediately transferred to our cold storage facility.
- Temperature control and handling standards are maintained throughout the logistics chain.
6. Delivery to Buyers
We currently sell and distribute goods directly from Silal Market, Barka. Delivery to individual customers or retail shops is not available at this time.
Buyers must arrange for pickup from our facility unless a special agreement is made.
7. Shipping Costs
- All product quotes are either:
- CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) – price includes delivery to Barka, Oman.
- EXW (Ex Works) – price excludes freight; buyer arranges shipping.
- Additional local handling and customs fees may apply based on shipment volume and classification.
8. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or damages caused by events outside our control, including natural disasters, port strikes, political instability, or global crises.
9. Communication & Tracking
- Clients are kept informed throughout the shipping process via WhatsApp, phone, or email.
- Tracking numbers or container IDs will be provided upon request.
